Zip-Lining in Pokhara
Experience one of the world's longest and steepest ziplines with incredible mountain views
About Zip-Lining in Pokhara
The ZipFlyer Nepal at Sarangkot is consistently ranked among the world's most extreme ziplines — and for good reason. Stretching 1,800 metres from the ridge of Sarangkot hill down to the banks of the Seti River, it combines sheer length with a dramatic 600-metre altitude drop, sending riders hurtling at speeds of up to 120 km/h. The line is gravity-powered, which means the faster you go, the more thrilling the ride becomes. It is a purpose-built adventure attraction that has been designed, tested, and operated to the highest international safety standards.
The setting alone makes this experience unforgettable. As you launch from the platform, the entire Annapurna massif unfolds before you — Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and the iconic fishtail peak of Machapuchare stretch across the horizon in a wall of snow and ice. Below, the Pokhara valley sweeps out in a patchwork of terraced fields and forested ridges, with the mirror surface of Phewa Lake glinting in the distance. On a clear day the visual panorama rivals anything you will see from a light aircraft.
Whether you are an adrenaline junkie seeking your next fix or a first-time adventure traveller looking for a defining Nepal moment, the ZipFlyer delivers. The entire experience — transport, safety briefing, gearing up, the ride, and the return — takes around two to three hours, making it a perfect half-day addition to any Pokhara itinerary. Debyani Tours handles all logistics so you arrive ready and leave exhilarated.

What to Expect
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive up to Sarangkot, the prominent ridge above Pokhara that frames the city's skyline. On arrival at the launch site you will meet your guides and complete the check-in process, including a weight and health assessment to ensure you meet the safe operating criteria (35–120 kg). The team will then walk you through a thorough safety briefing covering body position, hand placement, braking signals, and what to do on landing. You will be fitted with a full-body harness, helmet, and gloves before being connected to the line.
The launch platform juts out over the hillside with nothing but open air ahead of you. When the guide gives the all-clear you step off — and within seconds you are at full speed, flying above the canopy with the Himalayas filling your entire field of vision. The 1,800-metre ride typically lasts 90 seconds to two minutes, though at those speeds it will feel simultaneously like an eternity and the blink of an eye. You can choose to fly in a traditional seated position or, if you are feeling bold, opt for the Superman (face-down) position for a truly immersive flight.
Landing at the bottom, your guide will disconnect your harness and give you a moment to catch your breath and process what just happened. A vehicle will then transport you back up to the Sarangkot viewpoint, giving you the chance to linger and take in the mountain panorama at a more leisurely pace before heading back into Pokhara. Most guests find they want to go again immediately — and a second run can often be arranged on the spot.
