Muktinath Darshan with Pashupatinath & Pokhara
The complete spiritual circuit - seek blessings at Pashupatinath, witness the Himalayas at Pokhara, then complete the sacred Muktinath darshan at 3,710m elevation.
Our team greets you at Tribhuvan International Airport with a welcome board and marigold garland. Transfer to your hotel in the Thamel or Boudha area (20–30 min drive). Freshen up and rest after your journey.
In the evening, our guide briefs you on the full yatra plan, weather conditions, and what to pack for the mountain days ahead. If time permits, take a short evening walk around the vibrant Thamel market or visit the serene Boudhanath Stupa nearby.
Wake up early for the sacred darshan at Pashupatinath Temple - the holiest Shiva temple in Nepal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Witness the morning aarti on the ghats of Bagmati river, see the ancient Shiva lingam, and walk through the temple complex with its hundreds of smaller shrines and ash-smeared sadhus.
After darshan and breakfast, begin the scenic 200km drive to Pokhara (6–7 hrs) via Prithvi Highway - winding through terraced hillsides, crossing suspension bridges, and following the emerald Trishuli river valley. Arrive in Pokhara by evening and check into your lakeside hotel.
Start with a 4:30 AM drive to Sarangkot viewpoint (1,592m) for one of Nepal's most iconic sunrises - watch the first golden light hit the peaks of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Return for breakfast.
Spend the day exploring: boat ride to Barahi Temple on Phewa Lake island, the thundering Devi's Fall, and the mysterious Gupteshwor Cave with its underground waterfall. Afternoon visit to the World Peace Pagoda for panoramic views of the lake and mountains together.
Evening free to explore Lakeside - shop for souvenirs, enjoy local cuisine, or simply relax by the lake.
Begin the scenic 4WD drive from Pokhara to Jomsom (160 km, 8–10 hrs) through the Kali Gandaki valley - the deepest gorge on Earth, flanked by the towering walls of Annapurna (8,091m) on one side and Dhaulagiri (8,167m) on the other. Pass through terraced hillsides, traditional villages, and stop at the beautiful Rupse Waterfall along the way.
Arrive at Jomsom (2,700m) surrounded by the stark, beautiful landscape of Upper Mustang. Check into your hotel and spend the evening resting and acclimatizing - this is crucial before ascending to 3,710m tomorrow.
Take a gentle walk around Jomsom town, visit the local apple orchards, and try the famous Marpha apple brandy.
The most awaited day of the yatra. Drive from Jomsom to Muktinath Temple (3,710m, approximately 1 hr through rugged mountain terrain).
At the temple, begin with the sacred bath at the 108 water spouts (dhara) - cold glacial water believed to wash away all sins, each spout named after a Hindu deity. Then visit Jwala Mai temple where an eternal natural flame burns miraculously alongside a water spring - a phenomenon revered by both Hindus and Buddhists.
Finally, offer prayers at the main pagoda-style Vishnu temple housing the gold-plated Vishnu murti, tended by Buddhist nuns. After completing darshan (2–3 hrs), drive back to Pokhara (7–8 hrs) through the Kali Gandaki valley and celebrate at your hotel.
After a relaxed breakfast, begin the return drive to Kathmandu (200km, 6–7 hrs) via Prithvi Highway. The route follows the Trishuli river through lush valleys, small Nepali towns, and roadside dhabas serving fresh dal-bhat.
Stop for lunch at a riverside restaurant midway. Arrive in Kathmandu by evening. Free time to explore the bustling lanes of Thamel - pick up pashmina shawls, singing bowls, thangka paintings, or Nepali spices to take home.
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel. Our team transfers you to Tribhuvan International Airport (30 min before domestic, 3 hrs before international flights recommended). We assist with luggage and check-in formalities.
Your sacred Muktinath yatra concludes - carry home blessed prasad, holy water from the 108 dhara, and memories of the Himalayas that last a lifetime.
