Common Questions
No long treks are required. The 4WD covers the route to Manang. The only walking is gentle acclimatisation hikes around Manang, such as the short climb to Gangapurna Lake, which most fitness levels can manage.
Manang lies inside the Annapurna Conservation Area, so an ACAP permit and a TIMS card are required. Debyani Tours arranges both for you as part of the package.
Manang sits at 3,540m, so mild altitude effects are possible. We include a dedicated acclimatisation day, advise on hydration, and our guides carry basic altitude medication. Drinking plenty of water and ascending slowly helps significantly.
The road beyond Besisahar is a narrow, unpaved mountain track with steep sections and river crossings. It is best driven in a 4WD jeep with an experienced local driver, which is exactly what this tour provides.
Autumn (October to November) and spring (March to May) offer the clearest skies and most reliable road conditions. Winter snow can block the upper road, and the monsoon brings landslide risk.
